Kickstart is a portable modified walking stick that provides the user with a visual cue to help initiate a first step. It has been developed for people with Parkinson's disease who have difficulty initiating walking. The device consists of a walking stick with a retractable, spring-loaded yellow pointer that projects from the stick in front of the user when downwards pressure is exerted on the handle of the stick.

- Method of Use
1. Place stick on the ground a short distance in front and to the side of foot
2. Press down on the stick to extend the yellow pointer all the way to the ground. This provides the visual cue to initiate walking.
3. While leaning on the stick, step over the yellow pointer.
4. Release pressure on the stick and the pointer will automatically retract.- Manufacturer/Country
