Standard Hoist
This hoist consists of a unit that remains attached to the tracking and lowers the spreader bar via an extending cord.
The hoist is controlled using a hand held control unit, which is attached to the main unit via a coiled lead.
The control unit raises and lowers the spreader bar. Powered horizontal travel is optional.
Another model is available which allows it to be pushed along the tracking manually.
Spreader Bar
The separate spreader bar can swivel 360 degrees without twisting the cord.
It has four hook attachments, with two at either end and one midway along each bar.
These hooks allow the sling to be attached to the spreader bar.
Tracking
The aluminium tracking is available in straight sections, thirty degree curves and forty five degree curves.
Millsoms tradesmen can carry out installation or others can be contracted to do the job.Sling
One model and size sling only. This is a mesh universal style sling with padding in the leg supports. There are four webbing loop attachment points, each with three different lengths that can be used. The webbing is brown and the mesh is cream in colour. A handle is at the top of the sling.
Supplier states any brand of sling can be used with this hoist.
Loop or chain attachments are required.
Hoyer Pocket Lift
This is another option for the hoist.
It has the power unit attached to the spreader bar.
It is attached by a hook onto a runner on the tracking and it has a cord running off it.
The sling would be connected to the thinner spreader bar fixed to the base of the power unit.
If it is to go through doors, a hole does not need to be made for the power unit.
The tracking and cord only needs to fit through a cut out.
It can only be manually pushed along the tracking.
The weight of this hoist is 15kg.
Battery Recharging
All models recharge using a separate battery charger which plugs into the hand control.
Mains power from the wall socket is used to recharge.- Factors to Consider
