Extra product information

Features

Harness
The harness attaches to the Carrie Seat by four slots, two in the backrest and two at the rear of the seat.
The harness features two straps over the shoulders, a horizontal chest strap which bridges between the shoulder straps, and a lap belt. The lap belt secures together by a press release buckle. One of the shoulder straps secures to the lap belt by a press release buckle. The other shoulder strap is sewn directly to the lap belt.
The straps are adjustable in length.

Securing Straps
The Carrie Seat features two securing straps which pass around the back of the seat.
When the Carrie seat is used on a sitting chair or wheelchair, the securing straps should be used to secure it in place.
The securing straps are adjustable in length and secure with a flip down lock.

Car Seat Restraint
When the Carrie Seat is being used as a car seat, it is done so in combination with a tether anchor system which needs to be installed in the vehicle.
The tether anchor needs to be mounted through a metal, structurally sound, integral component of the vehicle directly behind the seating position of where the Carrie Seat is to be used.
The tether strap attaches to the rear of the top of the backrest via a press release buckle.
When the tether strap is tight, the angle between the seat and mounting point should not be more than 45 degrees.
The existing seat belt is also used in combination with the Carrie Seat.
Refer to the manufacturer manual for all installation instructions.

Backrest Adjustment (Trunk Tone Adjustment)
The backrest angle can be adjusted 10 degrees forwards or backwards based on a 90 degree seat to back angle.
The angle is adjusted by two Phillips head adjustment screws on each side of the backrest, near the seat. Ensure the screws are securely tightened once the adjustment is made.

Carrie Seat Orientation
The Carrie Seat is able to be placed in an upright position on a chair or it can be slightly reclined and secured by the use of the securing straps, the lower one being placed under the seat of the chair.

Adjustable Head Support
The head support can be adjusted up and down by hook and loop (hook and loop tape) located at the top of the backrest.

Adjustable Tray
The tray is inserted by a bar into a bracket placed under the pommel on the front of the seat. The bracket has two slots. The upper slot is used for the tray.
Several positions are available via adjustment holes along the bar of the tray, which locks into the selected position by a spring loaded pin.
The tray angle can be altered by a knob on the side of the tray, and tightened into place.
The tray is not able to be in place on the Carrie Seat while it is being used as a car restraint seat.

Adjustable Footrest
The adjustable footrest consists of three adjustable components, the footrest bar, the support tube and the individual foot shoes (supports).
The footrest attaches to the Carrie Seat via the bottom slot of the bracket positioned under the pommel at the front of the seat.
The attachment bar features several adjustment holes to lock into place in the desired position via a spring loaded pin on the bracket.
The support tube is the attachment bar for the footrest shoes. This may be adjusted up and down by a knob between the footrest shoes.
The footrest shoes can be angled individually in an upward or downward direction. This is completed by loosening the Phillips head adjustment screws positioned in the hole in the footrest tube directly under each shoe. Ensure it is tightened in place once the desired angle is obtained.
Each footrest shoe features two webbing straps which cross over the top of the foot and secure with hook and loop (hook and loop tape) underneath the shoe.

Stroller Base
The Carrie Seat has the option of a stroller base available in three sizes, the smallest size accommodating the Preschool and Elementary Carrie Seats.

Sizes
The Carrie Seat is available in four sizes. The Preschool size accommodates a height range of 76 to 97cm, the Elementary size is for a height range of 97 to 122cm, the Junior accommodates a height range of 122 to 147cm, and the Small adult is for a height range of 147 to 173cm.

Maintenance

Refer to the supplier and manufacturer manual for maintenance instructions and safety warnings.

Caution

This item may be suitable for children who require greater support than that provided by standard child car restraints.
It may be helpful to refer to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4370: 2013 Restraint of children with disabilities in motor vehicles to assist in deciding the safest way to transport a child with a disability.
Some items do not meet Australian Standard AS 1754 2010. A certificate is therefore required from a certified medical practitioner, with a review and expiry date, to explain why the item is required and the length of time it's required. This certificate must be stored with the item at all times. For further information, contact Vic Roads on 13 11 71.
Alteration of a car restraint from its original form is considered a modification (such as extending a crotch strap), and is therefore no longer approved. In this instance a medical certificate explaining why the modification or alteration is required, must be stored with the item at all times. This applies also for items that meet Australian Standards AS1754 2000 that are altered in any way, as this will nullify the standards testing. For further information, contact Vic Roads on 13 11 71.
Refer to the VicRoads 'Restraint Fitting Stations Get It Right' brochure to ensure that the child car restraint is installed correctly.
Refer to following link for Guidelines on Restraining Children with Disabilities in Motor Vehicles. Manufacturer's instructions must be followed.
