Tactile ground surface indicators, which include directional tiles and warning tiles for people with vision impariment, are available in a range of sizes and materials including ceramic, concrete, and rubber and cork rubber tiles. Tactile ground surface indicators must be included in all new or significantly refurbished public buildings, class 3-9, and in paths to and from such buildings, as required by law under the Building Code of Australia BCA and Australian Standards AS 1428.1 2001, AS1428.4 1992 and AS1428.4-1992/Amdt 1-1995.

Interior applications do not need any other fixing, screwing or securing devices.
When installing externally, our Fast Cure Primer must be applied to the substrate as per the installation instruction supplied prior to the laying of the tactiles.
Installed by the company in South East Queensland only.The Building Code of Australia specifies in what situations TGSI must be installed. To comply with the BCA the installation must be in full compliance with the relevant sections of the current AS1428.4. Tactile ground surface indicators for the orientation of people with vision impairment. This standard provides specifications on the form of TGSI and on their installation. Refer to this standard to determine the luminance contrast required between the TGSI and the surrounding ground surface and for installation details including width, length and location for a wide range of applications
If you wish to use Discrete Indicators and comply with the current version of the Building Code of Australia you will need an Alternative Solution, as the AS1428.4-2002 does not allow the use of discrete indicators without colouring the surface underneath to the same colour (integrated). Our access consultant is conversant with the production of Alternative Solutions for this product if one is required.
