Extra product information
MATERIALS: Air cells: nylon laminated with PVC/P.U. and have a vinyl cover.
Cover: a combination of nylon/P.U. and nylon/polyester cotton.
FEATURES: . Cell-in-Cell design - ensures the user is provided with support in the case of a power failure when the pump is unable to supply air pressure.
. Low air loss lasered air cells.
. CPC Quick Connectors - for easy connection and disconnection which simplifies the mattress set-up process.
. Spring loaded tubes - which prevents kinking or bending and ensures the best air flow to the mattress.
. An over-sized carry bag is provided standard to allow the entire unit to be carried and transported with ease.
COVER: The mattress cover is water resistant for protection of the mattress. The cover is also vapour permeable providing air circulation around the user. It is of a non shearing style and has extra quilting for comfort. The cover has a zipper all around to enclose the mattress fully and allow removal and cleaning when required. A pair of feet are printed on the cover to assist with mattress orientation.
COMPONENTS: There are 20 air cells which are blue in colour and are of a non shearing style:
- 2 no air loss, non alternating for under the pillow (to minimise air circulation around the face)
- 1 with air loss, non alternating for under the pillow
- 10 low air loss and alternating with micro lasered holes for under the trunk
- 7 no air loss and alternating for under the legs and feet.
OPERATION: Inflation:
When the switch is turned on, the microchip processor will cause the motor to quickly inflate all cells. The correct inner pressure of all cells can be reached quickly. When inflated, a user dialled pressure setting is entered. The microchip will automatically adjust pressure according to this setting. Once the correct inner pressure is reached, the microchip processor will then switch to alternating mode and suspend the internal compressor pump operation. This increases the life of the compressor and reduces power consumption. The compressor pump will come back on when the air pressure is decreasing below the selected setting.
Static Mode:
With the push of a button (blue switch) the alternating function ceases and the low preset pressure is redistributed across all cells within the mattress. The static mode allows tasks to be performed without the interference from mattress surface changes. The static mode can be changed back to the alternating mode by pushing the same button.
COMMENTS: . Suitable for bed sore treatment Stage II and III.
. Pump is fixed via a two piece arm style stand which attaches to the bed.
SAFETY: . There are two LED indicators which verify the pressure status of the mattress. An amber light indicates when the pressure is low both during initial inflation and when the normal pressure is decreasing below 5mmHg. The green light indicates the inner pressure is normal. An audible alarm sounds to warn users and carers when the inner pressure of the cells is below 5mmHg.
. The mattress has two CPR valves which are designed for quick release of air from the cells when there is an urgent need to perform CPR on the user (pull the yellow tags).
. Slip resistant mats - the bottom of the mattress comes with slip resistant mats to prevent slide movement of the mattress and provide better safety and stability.
