Extra product information
Materials: The stocking assist is made of ultra low friction silicon based material. The handle is made of fabric webbing.
Colours: The stocking assist is available in orange, red, blue, green and purple. Colours are subject to availability.
Method of Use:
1. Fold stocking assist inside itself
2. Slide the stocking assist over the patient`s foot.
3. Apply compression stocking, pulling the stocking over the foot and up to the heel
4. Fit the stocking over the calf
5. Grasp the stocking assist handle and pull firmly to remove the applicator. Toes should not be visible when fitted correctly.
Areas for Use: Stocking assist is useful for people who have difficulty donning compression stockings. It is suitable for open toe stockings only. There are models available for the upper limb and lower limb.
Comments: Stocking assist is designed for attendant use. The device assists with getting the stocking over the heel and up the leg. It is not suitable to leave in situ and thus does not assist with removing the stockings.
Cleaning Requirements
Stocking Assist can be machine washed. It should be laundered on a gentle wash cycle for 5 - 10 minutes. Woolwash detergent should be used. Water temperature for wash and spin is 65 - 75 degrees celcius plus. If using an industrial washing machine a slow spin cycle should be selected. The stocking assist can be dried in a tumble drier on a ward (not hot) setting or alternatively aid dried. Avoid the use of alkaline detergents, bleaches and scouring agents. Woolsan or Breathe-Ezy is recommended for Stocking assist care.
