Method of lift operation: There are two methods of lift operation.
1) Direct access - which involves the occupant applying constant pressure on push buttons (paddle style switch) that are located on posts or in the lift car.
2) Remote control access - which allows the occupant to operate the lift and be out of the way when the lift comes down.

Method of door operation: Manual outward swing opening door. Top landing gate can be hinged to swing out from left or right sides to suit building requirements

Accessibility of control panel within the lift: The landing and car buttons are key isolated which means the lift is only enabled when the key is in use as a safety mechanism.
Buttons in the lift car and landing posts are the same. The buttons are 50mm x 50mm in size. Any part of the button can be pressed to activate the button i.e. the corner edge of the button. The supplier states that the buttons require minimal activation pressure i.e. a person using a mouthstick would be able to depress the button.
Buttons in the lift car are arranged vertically on a post. The post can be positioned on either the right or left hand side of the lift car to suit the abilities of the occupant. Buttons on the landing post are also arranged vertically.

Installation

Installation of lift shafts, lift car rails and lift doors is considered to be building work and must be carried out by appropriately licenced installer. For further information on this topic visit the Building Services Authority (BSA) website: www.bsa.qld.gov.au

This platform lift does not require a pit for installation. Mounts directly onto a concrete pad. When no longer required, the platform lift can be easily removed and/or relocated.
