A manually operated, computerised air mattress overlay, designed to prevent pressure sores. Constructed from Goretex air filled cells over a composite foam mattress base or a regular mattress.
General Details
- Extra product information
The mattress has three individual air cells and side air cells for safety. The mattress is connected to an air pump control box that sits at the end of the bed and the air pressure in each of the three central cells is individually adjustable, namely for the head and shoulders, trunk, and legs.
Air pressure should be adjusted so that an individual can pass their hand under the person on the bed.
The mattress has a built in, adjustable heater. Base temperature is room temperature and adjusts to up to 5 degrees Celsius above room temperature.
ATTACHMENT: is via elastic and hook and loop straps on the sides of the mattress.
MATERIAL: is Goretex which is breathable and impermeable to fluid. To clean, the hoses can be detached from the mattress and the entire mattress put into the washing machine once it has deflated.
REPAIR: Goretex is self sealing for small punctures. Large tears will need to be patched.
CONTROLS: are located on the control box and consist of knobs to control the air pressure in the three air cells, that is head and shoulders, trunk and legs; temperature is also controlled by a knob.
PUMP: Air flows to the mattress from the control box through three tubes.
SAFETY FEATURES: The tubes can be removed from the pump unit or the mattress to cause instant deflation in case of emergency.
