An electrically operated food processor and cooking appliance with a gearless motor, Solingen steel blades and a stainless steel bowl. The Thermomix is able to chop, beat, mix, whip, emulsify, mill, knead, grind, mince, grate, juice, blend, melt, cook, stir, steam and weigh food.

The Thermomix assists with food preparation and cooking. The stainless steel bowl is housed in a food grade, fibre glass material that is food compatible. The mixing bowl has an integrated heating system and temperature sensor which allows it to cook and heat food. There is a separate component called the Varoma which is a steam style bowl that is placed on the lid of the Thermomix, it consists of a deeper bowl and shallower tray. There is also a butterfly insert to assist with whipping and aerating food and a spatula to assist with stirring the food while the blade is in use.
Information about weight and cooking time etc. is shown on the digital display screen located on the front of the Thermomix. The appliance has a one metre retractable cable. It is suitable for 230V alternating voltage.
The speed of the motor is adjustable from 100 to 10,200 rpm or a gentle stir of 40 rpm. There is a special speed setting (alternating mode) for making dough. An electronic motor protection prevents overloading or overheating. The motor is rated to 500W power. The heating system uses 1000W power consumption and maximum power consumption is 1500W.
Integrated scales measure from 5g to 100g in 5g increments, and 100g to 2000g in 10g increments.
The mixing bowl and blades are able to be washed in the dishwasher.
