Licensing and Insurance Requirements

You are legally required to advise your State licensing authority of any medical condition or disability that may impact on your driving. If not, you risk fines or legal action and your car insurance can be affected. You may need to provide medical reports or undergo driving tests. Modifications to your vehicle must be in line with the Australian safety and design rules. Fitting of wheelchair occupant restraints, child restraints and vehicle hoist ramps must meet relevant Australian Standards. Modifications should be done by suitably qualified vehicle modifiers. You will also need to inform your car insurer of any vehicle modifications. Your policy may become void if you do not do so. Contact the vehicle licensing / registration authority in your State for more information.

FRAME: Powder Coated Aluminium. Metallic Silver Only.
SEAT: The mechanical seat tilt adjustment lets you bring the seat into a tilted position for pressure relief. The standard seat tilt can be adjusted to three different positions (0°, 3° and 6°), however 20° of manual tilt can be achieved as an option.

UPHOLSTERY: Dependent on seating system used.

BACKREST: The standard nylon slung-style backrest is reclining and fully folding to enable users to transport the chair with ease. The slung backrest is tension adjustable for comfort and positioning. Manual recline is standard on this chair. An optional contoured foam backrest is also available.

HEADREST: A headrest is not standard on A200, however other options may be mounted on the wheelchair.

ARMRESTS: Are full-length and removable with the possibility of height adjustability. A range of different padding options are available.

LEGRESTS: Are swing up/swing away style and are removable. There is the option of manual elevating legrests.

FOOTPLATES: Are flip up two piece style, Plastic as standard. They are set at 70 degree hanging angle as standard with the option of other angles and height adjustment. Aluminium two-piece, or one-piece flip-up style footplate available at extra charge. Manually elevating footplates also available as an option.

DRIVE WHEELS: are 317mm (12.5") diameter, 63mm (2.5") width pneumatic wheels.

FRONT CASTORS: are 200 mm (8") diameter 50mm (2") width pneumatic wheels, with swivel lock.

CONTROLS: The control panel consists of a keypad, LED display and joystick. The PGD (VSI) control unit is used to control the power wheelchair with up to 5 drive profiles. The charging outlet for the batteries is also located on the joystick controller.

BATTERIES: The standard version of the A200 power wheelchair includes two 28 Ah/12V Gel batteries. The charging socket is found on the joystick controller.

MOTOR: High speed 2 pole, 150 watt Motor, can be disengaged at the left and right hand side of the wheelchair in front of the drive wheel hubs.

TRANSPORT or DISMANTLING: Steps to reduce the size of the A200 power wheelchair for transport :
1. Remove the footrests.
2. Loosen the joystick control panel mounting screw, remove the control panel to the rear and deposit it beside
the wheelchair.
3. Remove the side panels.
4. Fold the backrest down to the front
5. Release the seat lock by simultaneously pulling the release strap and folding the locking bar to the rear
6. Remove the battery packs by releasing the Lock Lever
7. Separate the frame from the drive unit assembly.
Place your weight on the mounting of the anti-tipper above the wheels so the wheels touch the ground. Next, separate the frame from the drive unit assembly by slightly lifting the frame and pulling it to the rear
8. Fold the seat base onto the frame. To do this loosen the two quick release levers of the anterior seat brackets and fold the seat base down whilst simultaneously lifting the brackets slightly and pushing them to the rear
