A one piece interior platform lift designed to lift scooters and powered wheelchairs into the rear of a vehicle. The mobility device can be driven on to the platform from either direction and is electrically operated. It is designed for installation into vans, mini vans and four wheel drive vehicles.

Features
Y Strap
Used to secure the mobility device to the platform.
Wheel Chocks
Lift is supplied with two adjustable wheel chocks, which aid in centering the mobility device during loading.
Position of the wheel chocks will depend on the wheel base and size of the scooter or powered wheelchair.

Installation
Can be installed in either side of the vehicle.
Recommended installation by an authorised dealer who can advise on correct installation methods for the owner's particular make and model of vehicle
Vehicle must have adequate space to accommodate the mobility device.
Method of use
Press and hold the 'down' button to move the lift out of the vehicle. By continuously holding the 'down' button, it will lower it to the ground.
Release the 'down' button when the platform reaches the ground.
Set the speed control to the slowest setting and drive the mobility device on to the platform, being sure to centre the mobility device between the previously installed wheel chocks.
Alternatively the device can be driven on in the freewheel mode.
Turn off power on mobility device, remove key if applicable and ensure the unit is in drive mode.
Secure the mobility device to the platform by draping the Y strap over the seat and buckling the strap securely.
Pull the end of the Y strap tightly to remove any slack over the seat.
Press and hold the 'up' button. The lift will move up to its highest point, then slide into the vehicle.
Once the mobility device is stowed completely within the vehicle, release the button.
To unload, lower the platform to the ground, unfasten the Y strap and drive the mobility device off the platform.
Once compete, return the lift platform into the vehicle.
Factors to Consider
The Backpacker Plus is useful for scooter users who wish to transport their scooter in a vehicle but remain capable of entering and exiting the vehicle independently or with some assistance.
It is not suitable for a scooter or wheelchair user who needs to remain in the scooter or wheelchair whilst entering and exiting the vehicle.
The lifter should not be used with an occupant sitting in the scooter or wheelchair.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the vehicle modifications.
Platform dimensions may limit the use of the lift with some scooters and powered wheelchairs.
