The bolt is surface mounted and comprises two parts: inside surface mounted bolt, with a small turn snib and an outside indicator plate with a slotted emergency release button. (Thus in an emergency, the door can be opened from the outside.)
Displays the words: 'engaged' or 'vacant' in capital letters, with red print on a white background.
