A range of double glazing units for windows which are temperature and noise insulating. The units consist of two sheets of glass between which is a trapped layer of sealed dry air which acts as a natural insulator for heat, cold and sound. They are available in different sizes and each unit needs to be specified for the particular applications.
General Details
Extra product information
Each of the units has a 12mm air space between two sheets of glass. Thickness of the internal and external panes varies depending on requirements. Additional features such as metallic coating on the glass to reduce heat loss and reflective or tinted glass to reduce heat gain, can be included in the specification of the units when they are used for temperature insulation.
The use of various thicknesses of glass and laminated glass in these units can produce various levels of noise reduction. For effective insulation against noise, all possible entry points for noise should be checked and sealed off. These can include gaps in and around window frames, wall and ceiling vents, loose fitting doors and windows, roof and walls.
The units are installed into frame of choice, but frame type also affects overall performance of the unit.
