The Magnicam is a low cost, hand held electronic magnifier that can display magnified images on any television set, on a laptop computer or via a modified 'virtual reality' headset. It consists of a lightweight hand held camera connected to a small video processor box which couples directly to a rechargeable battery pack.

Extra product information
It has an infinite focus and requires no adjustment other than contrast
control (a knob on the hand held camera). Negative images are selected by pulling out the contrast knob. With a 53cm television
Magnicam can magnify 12 point newsprint to 90mm tall, which is at the top end of the magnification range for closed circuit televisions. The camera is powered via a mains adapter or from an optional battery pack, which can deliver 5 hours of charge.
The Magnicam has the portability of a magnifying glass and also has the image enhancing features of a closed circuit television. The camera has automatic focus and magnification is controlled purely by moving the camera closer or further away. For fixed magnifications and ease of reading printed material, spacer blocks can be fitted to the camera. A special spacer block allows the user to write with an ordinary pen under the camera.
Choice of displays:
Television - the Magnicam video processor box can be plugged directly into any television. On larger televisions ordinary 12 point newsprint appears 90mm tall at full magnification.
Computer - on a computer with a "TV card" fitted. The camera image will be shown on the computer monitor. Using it with a laptop screen provides greater portability.
