- Caution
Chair should not be mobilised with person seated in it. The castors provided are for ease of moving the chair for floor cleaning.
When the chair is in its lowered position, all castors are in contact with the ground and the chair is mobile. To ensure chair is stable when not in use, the chair should be left in a raised position (partial or full).- Extra product information
The contoured backrest consists of three sections padded with polyester fibre. The armrests are full length, fully padded and upholstered and have armrest covers. Seat cushion is padded with foam. The legrest is padded and is fully enclosed (chaise).
The reclining and standing mechanism is operated by a push button hand held control on an extendable cord which can be mounted on the left or right side of the chair. When moved into the reclining position, the legrest raises to support the legs as the chair base moves forward. When the legrest is almost in the fully raised position, the backrest then reclines as the base continues to move forwards. In the fully reclined position the chair is 25cm from the wall.
When the standup function button is pressed, the backrest will return to the normal upright position as the chair base moves backwards, and then the legrest returns to normal position before the seat begins to raise into the standup position. Releasing the switch will automatically stop the chair at any position.FRAME is steel and wood framed.
BACKREST padding may be customised. The three roll backrest piece is joined at the top of the backrest frame only. This allows the user to place the backrest sections to the desired position and allows access to zippers on the rear of the three padded sections. The amount of polyester fibre fill can thus be adjusted to suit individual needs.LEGREST includes a full chaise and is level with the seat when in the fully reclined position.
UPHOLSTERY comes in a range of fabrics including fluid resistant fabrics.
CUSTOMISATION includes seat depth (within a range), seat width and amount of padding in backrest sections . Seat depth may also be reduced by addition of foam padding on the front of the backrest frame, beneath the pillow sections.CONTROLS may be stored in pockets situated on the outside of the chair arms for convenient access. The control has two white soft touch push buttons on a black background. A raised arrow on each of the buttons also indicates direction of movement. One switch operates the recline and legrest elevation, and the other operates the standup function. Newer models have a single black rocker switch on black hand control with up and down arrow and tactile markers. The up arrow is activated for the standup function, while the down arrow activates return to seated position and recline function.
POWER The motor is mains operated and has battery backup in the event of power failure. The backup battery is contained within the hand control allowing ease of battery change after emergency use.
