A vacuum cleaner which is cordless, battery operated and has an infrared navigation system, enabling it to vacuum floors independently. Comprises a mobile cleaning unit (Robo Cleaner) and Base (charger) Station. The charger unit is mains powered and the vacuum cleaner empties itself autonomously at the base station when full.

The vacuum cleaner has spacers to prevent it being stuck under furniture, a sensor to prevent it going down stairs and it can negotiate small lips or cables.
The mobile cleaning unit (Robo Cleaner) has touch sensors on the sides, a 360 degree infrared beam receiver and bumpers. The Base Station has a standby function, filter indicator, cleaning programme selection and quiet mode. The cleaner has sensors to determine when the dirt container is full - it will automatically return to the charging station to recharge and discharge dirt it has collected.
The Robo Cleaner operates a suction and brush function.
Operated by rechargeable batteries. Can clean for 60 minutes over 15 square meters before requiring recharging.
CONTROLS Infrared controls.
POWER SOURCE is directly to the mains for the charger unit, and rechargeable batteries for the mobile cleaning unit.
BATTERY RECHARGING the cleaner automatically returns to the charging station to recharge batteries.
DISMANTLING the charging station can be carried and relocated.
