Installation
INSTALLATION
Professional installation is required.
All Indicators currently have a profiled plug incorporated into the design of each tactile indicator which suits a pre drilled 8mm hole. The depth of hole is dependant on the substrate material. Typically a 25mm depth hole is sufficient when fixing the tactile indicator to concrete.
Tactile indicators can provide a drill template to assist with drilling to the required matrix standard.
The Building Code of Australia specifies in what situations TGSI must be installed. To comply with the BCA the installation must be in full compliance with the relevant sections of the current AS1428.4. Tactile ground surface indicators for the orientation of people with vision impairment. This standard provides specifications on the form of TGSI and on their installation. Refer to this standard to determine the luminance contrast required between the TGSI and the surrounding ground surface and for installation details including width, length and location for a wide range of applications
