General Details
Extra product information
This tool has a sharp, hardened steel blade with Teflon coating and heavy duty handles with soft rubber hand grip on the upper handle. The blade has a 3 stage ratchet mechanism. The blade is held in with a screw requiring an allen key for ease of blade sharpening or replacement.
The Teflon coated blade is rust resistant and prevents build up of plant gum/sap. They cut with a wedge action.
When not in use, the blades are held closed by a contrast coloured lever which clips over the ratchet mechanism. The pruners can be operated with one hand.
The secateurs are suited to green moist wood and cut stems up to 20mm in thickness.
Method of Use
Open the cutting jaws as far as possible with the black blade uppermost and the fingers comfortably placed into the indents of the handle. Feed the branch or stem into the jaws as far as possible. Apply the pressure until ratchet "clicks". Release the pressure then apply pressure again until the "click" sound, repeat as before two or three times until cut is complete.
Maintenance
To maintain the pruners, wash in soapy water, rinse well and spray with WD40or CRC or RP7 or similar regularly.
Blade may be sharpened with fine emery stone when required.
