Caution: Powered Wheelchairs & Scooters

This item should be trialled in the user's home environment to ensure maximum safety and independence. Environmental considerations include kerbs, footpaths, road, railway crossing, etc.
Users should take care when riding a scooter or powered wheelchair and observe the following safety guidelines:
• Users who intend to use scooters or powered wheelchairs must ensure they have the necessary physical and cognitive skills to operate and manoeuvre them safely
• Stay within the legal speed limit of 10km/h
• Be aware that taking medication or driving under the influence of alcohol may affect the user's judgement
• Always make sure that you are clearly visible, particularly at night or on dull days-use the lights and reflectors and install a reflective flag high enough to be seen by motorists
• Wear a bicycle helmet whenever possible
• Slow down when you are near other people, especially pedestrians and cyclists
• Avoid stopping or driving on inclines greater than your scooter or powered wheelchair is designed for
• Use footpaths if possible. If there are no foot paths, plan to user quieter roads
• Plan your trip and avoid uneven surfaces, dips and potholes
• Ensure if you are carrying parcels that the load will not over-balance your scooter or powered wheelchair and the parcels do not interfere with your controls or vision.

Extra product information

Frame
The wheelchair features a powder coated aluminium frame available in four colours (silver metallic, red, blue or yellow). It dismantles into three pieces for ease of transport. Frame features rear wheel anti-tippers. A removable bumper bar can be added to front of the frame as optional extra.

Upholstery
The upholstery is padded and tension adjustable. It is available in two colours (black, blue). The mud guards and cushion are available in black.

Seat
The Standard seat is slung upholstery with hip guides. Skippi's seat width and seat depth are adjustable. It can be fitted with seating systems including Leckey Squiggle, Mygo, and others. Seat tilt is available as an option. Removable height adjustable push handles are an option.

Backrest
The Skippi has a standard padded backrest, with an adjustable backrest angle.

Options
Battery operated backrest angle adjustment is an option.

Armrests
Armrest style is full length, padded, height adjustable and removable.

Legrests
Standard legrests are included with swing away, swing up and removable features. Legrests are length adjustable. Elevating legrests are manually operated or powered as an optional extra. Standard legrest hanger angles at 70, 80 and 90 degrees.

Footplates
Footplates available as individual footrests, single panel footrests and elevating footrests. Individual footplates flip up and are standard. Single panel and elevating footplates flip up and are standard. Single panel elevating footplates are available as optional extras. The footplate material is aluminium. Heel loops are also available.

Wheels
The standard wheels are puncture resistant tyres for swivelling front wheels/castors. Pneumatic tyres for rear wheels are standard. Puncture resistant rear tyres are available as an optional extra.

Controls
The Skippi's controls is from Curtis. It is the enAble50 model. It features five driver profiles. The standard control consists of joystick, LCD display and 7 buttons with symbols displayed. Optional extras include an attendant controller, protective bow for control panel, adapter cable USB/Serial, and positioning fork for hand to allow accessibility to control unit.

Batteries
Two 31 amp hour C 20 gel batteries.

Transport
To disassemble the Skippi for transport, the footrests, control panel and side panels are removed. The backrest is folded down and the drive unit is loosened from the seating unit. The height adjustable push handles are then pushed down as far as possible. Transport tie down points are located at the front and rear of the wheelchair.

Brakes
Electromagnetic brakes. A manual park brake is standard.
