Talley Quattro Sentinel Mattress
https://ilcaustralia.org.au/products/19547
An electrically operated alternating air mattress designed for bariatric users weighing up to 400kg. Suitable for users at high risk of pressure injury or to manage existing pressure injury. Features 1 in 4 active cell cycle or continuous low pressure. The air cells are constructed from reinforced PU coated nylon and adjust automatically to the user's weight. The side bolsters are removable to aid transfers. Suitable to use in all care environments.
General Details
- Maintenance
Check the mattress daily for punctures or air loss.
In the event of failure of air cells to inflate or "low pressure fault" on display, check:
* power source is on / functional
* mattress is connected to pump and not in Transport Mode (green dot visible)
* CPR valve is closed
* air cells are all connected and nil punctures.Contact service centre / supplier for issues arising with pump or damage to air cells. Individual air cells can be removed for repair or replacement.
- Cleaning Requirements
The mattress and cover are fully launderable.
- Safety and Usage Advice
SAFETY FEATURES: visual and audible operation status, such as a low air pressure warning alarm, and fault indicators on the pump.
CPR RELEASE: situated at the side of the overlay for rapid deflation. Note that the yellow CPR tag is an indicator, not the CPR release (which is a dial situated on the head end of the right side of the mattress).
IN THE EVENT OF POWER FAILURE:
* unplanned power failure - disconnect the hose from the pump to put mattress into Transport Mode. This will lock the valve. The mattress will remain inflated for approximately 12-15 hours (depending on weight).
* planned power failure - inflate to maximum using the Max. Inflation function - this will extend time of inflation without power up to 24 hours (depending on weight).- Extra product information
The Quattro Sentinel replaces an existing mattress and is made from reinforced polyurethane coated nylon. The cells alternate in a 1-in-4 active cycle. Both the cell material and the cover are non allergenic. The cells are replaceable and fully repairable.
The cover is two way stretch, vapour permeable, waterproof and flame retardant.
Removable side bolsters may be used with width-retractable bariatric bed frames, allowing the bed to be reduced in width to negotiate doorways, corridors, lifts etc.
Additional features include:
* AUTOsupport - automatic pressure adjustment to maintain pressure within the cells in response to weight, position and movement
* active alternating pressure mode or static low pressure mode
* adjustable air cycle time and air pressure
* low air loss feature - circulation of air beneath the cover to reduce humidity and assist with management of the person's microclimate
* maximum inflation mode to maintain maximum static pressure for up-to 15 minutes
* audible and visual operation status and fault indicators
* CPR facility for rapid deflation to enable CPR procedures
* transport mode which allows the user to remain supported without power for up to 12 hours- Caution: Pressure Cushions & Mattresses
• All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (e.g. correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
• Sometimes, due to the user deteriorating, the product may become unsuitable. Continuous monitoring is necessary and alternative products may be recommended.
• There are many things to consider when selecting pressure care products including nutrition, skin moisture, level of mobility, age shear, friction, location of pressure ulcer (if present) and hygiene. Any comments regarding level of pressure care is a suggestion made by suppliers as a guide to assist with selection, and this may differ from brand to brand. When selecting pressure care products it is strongly advised that a comprehensive assessment is undertaken by a health professional to encourage correct product selection and monitoring of product effectiveness
