TAD 4 wheel walker with brake conversion (PR21538)
Modified 4 wheel walking frame
https://ilcaustralia.org.au/products/21538
A modification for standard 4 wheel walking frames with push-down brakes to convert to a frame with hand-brakes. The walker still operates with the push-down braking system, however can also be locked stationary using cable style hand-brakes.
General Details
- Walking frame brakes
Push down brakes - activate by pushing down on the handles.
Hand-brakes - lock into position prior to seating by pushing down on the brake until a "click" is heard / felt and the rear wheel is locked.
Note: brakes only apply to the front wheels. There may remain some movement of the frame, particularly on slippery or uneven floor surfaces.- Folding Mechanism
Modifications suit standard 4 wheel walkers that fold by pulling a bar in the centre of the frame (usually under the seat). Front closes towards rear of frame.
- Height adjustment mechanism
Most standard 4 wheel walkers adjust using a screw to change height of the handles. Ensure hexagon nut is squarely in the hole when tightening for a firm fit.
