An enamel, carbon steel mat base that can be placed directly onto most stove tops to diffuse heat and provide temperature control. It allows food to slow cook on a low temperature without catching, reducing the need for constant stirring and harsh scrubbing of pots.

The octagonal shaped mat is placed with the cones facing up directly onto the stovetop, or into an oven. It is designed to be used only at a low temperature, with a pot, casserole dish, pressure cooker etc. placed on top of it.
The SimmerMat can be used to cook rice, milk recipes, soups, vegetables, drinks, jams and chutneys, casseroles, and sweets.
The item is made of steel and is dishwasher safe. It can be used as a pot mat when cold to protect bench top surfaces from hot pots and pans.
