A moulded plastic, free standing chemical toilet which is self contained. It consists of two tanks which lock together. The toilet is flushed by a hand pump and chemicals are used to degrade the waste. A range of sizes and models available.
General Details
Caution
Cleaning and deodorising compounds are poisonous and need to be handled with extreme care. Observe recommended handling and first aid procedures.
Prior to use in a confined area, such as a bedroom where a person will be in close proximity to the chemicals for a prolonged period of time, check with the manufacturer of the chemicals to ensure they are safe to be used in such a manner.
Extra product information
The toilet consists of an upper and a lower tank. The upper tank includes a bowl, toilet seat, lid and flushing tank, and the lower is a sealed holding tank. The unit has an auto-flush valve which is self cleaning.
It is important to note that regular toilet paper does not break down. Special paper is available from the same supplier.
Method of Use
To empty the unit the two parts must be separated and the waste holding tank can be emptied and the flushing tank filled.
Toilet chemicals are used to treat the waste. This renders the sewage safe for disposal.
Chemicals:
Are added to the waste storage tank, before use, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Flushing:
Water can be added to the bowl, before use, by pushing down the flushing bellows.
To flush after use, pull waste valve handle (located at the front of the unit), straight out, then press the flushing bellows one more time to rinse. Water and waste will pass into the waste storage tank.
To close the seal of the waste storage tank, push the valve handle in all the way. This will ensure a seal when the waste storage tank is being carried.
Emptying:
Empty according to manufacturer's instructions. The waste storage tanks needs to be removed from the base of the chemical toilet, carried to an appropriate disposal site and tipped, to empty. Fresh water will need to be added to the fresh water storage tank.
