1. The Big Button telephone has a PABX mode for use with some switchboards.

2. A switch on the side can turn the ringer off so only the flashing light indicates an incoming call.

3. A power pack is required for any auxiliary switches that need to be added to the phone.

TELEPHONE COMPONENTS
Base station with handset. Can be mounted on the wall or on the desk; mounting bracket is included.

MEMORY DIALLING
The phone has three one-touch memory buttons and ten two-touch memory buttons for frequently called numbers.

VOLUME CONTROL
This phone has an adjustable ringer volume and adjustable voice amplification/pitch. The ringer pitch can be adjusted for high or low pitch, or it can be switched off. The ringer volume has three levels, low, medium or high. A switch located on the right side of the telephone base allows these functions to be adjusted.

There is capacity to adjust the volume of the incoming caller's speech. The switch to adjust this is located on the base of the telephone, near the smaller memory buttons. This switch has two arrows (up and down) to enable the user to adjust volume accordingly. The adjusted volume setting is retained until it is changed or returned from Normal to Voice Mode.

The transmit send level (voice mode) can be adjusted by pressing the volume up or down buttons to obtain the desired level. This level will be retained until it is changed or switched from voice to normal mode.

The phone has an adjustable voice aid to amplify outgoing speech.

HANDS FREE OPERATION
The phone can be operated in the hands free speaker mode, allowing the use of the phone without using the handset. The phone does not send and receive simultaneously, user must wait for the other party to finish before talking. Telephone operations (eg making call, and storing numbers) can be performed in hands free mode by pressing the SPKR instead of lifting the handset. The speaker volume can be adjusted.

KEY PAD
Number pads are 25 x 30 mm in size and feature black buttons with white numerals; a tactile marker is located on number pad 5. The buttons click when pushed, providing auditory confirmation to the user. The phone frame is recessed at both sides of each button, to assist in locating them. Smaller raised buttons for the volume, redial, memory, and speaker functions are located below the number pads.

HEARING AID COMPATIBILITY
The handset has magnetic coupling for use with hearing aids with a T position switch. The switch for this function is located at the back of the phone.

HOT KEY DIALLING
This feature allows a call to be made without lifting the handset or pressing SPKR. When the hot key is pressed, the phone automatically goes into hands free mode. There are three levels of hot key dialling:
Level 1 - all hot keys are disabled
Level 2 - MEM, REDIAL, M1, M2 and M3 are hot keys
Level 3 - MEM, REDIAL, M1, M2, M3 and 0 to 9 are hot keys.

HOT KEY ANSWER
This feature allows the user to answer an incoming call by pressing any button while the telephone is ringing. The incoming call is answered in hands free or headset mode. There are two levels of hot key answer - on or off.

SWITCH ACCESS
A switch can be attached through the standard switch socket for people unable to operate the buttons on the phone. A power pack is required in this mode. Wireless switches are also available.

Telstra Aged & Disability Services may provide this phone if client is eligible.

Options

. The handset can be replaced with a headset, and the telephone programmed for Headset Mode. The headset is not provided with the phone.

. An auxiliary device eg a jellybean, puffer or lever switch can be connected to the Auxiliary Input. Activating the auxiliary device will answer, initiate and release calls in hands free or headset mode. a power pack will be required when using an auxiliary switch.
