Extra product information
MATERIALS: Velvet material joined at the ends to form a tube shape. Covered on both sides with a slip resistant material. Water resistant.
SECURED BY: The slip resistant material helps the pad to stay in place under the person and underlying surface. In the Bariatric models, an additional gold webbing strap (sewn into the two lifting loops) is fastened behind the chair to prevent the pad from sliding forward. The manufacturer recommends wrapping the webbing around the rear legs of the chair before securing the buckle.
ANCHORAGE POINTS / HANDLE POSITION: Two lifting loops made from webbing straps are sewn into either sides of the pad. The loops hang down from the left and right side of the pad and provide handle points for carers to pull the pad and position the person as required.
SLIDING ACTION: Sideways
METHOD OF MOVEMENT:
Sit, Slide and Stand Pad - Standard Model
Place the pad on the chair with lifting loops at the back of chair, and the indicating arrows pointing to the back of the chair.
Lift up the top section only of the pad and take the top section forward about half the depth of the chair. When the person sits down on the front quarter section of the pad, if they are unable to push themselves back, one or two attendants can pull the loops to the back of the chair.
To assist the user to stand up, one attendant stands in front of the user blocking their knees and pulling on the lifting loops or two attendants can stand slightly in front either side of the user and pull a lifting loop with one hand, and rest the other hand lightly on top of the user's shoulder to steady them after standing up.
Sit, Slide and Stand Pad - Bariatric Model
Place the pad on the chair with webbing loops as the back of the chair.
Lift up the top section at about half way and pull it towards to front of the chair, to let it overhang the front of the chair.
Carers should stand on both sides of the chair and hold the webbing loops, so the user sits down on the front section of the pad and not slip forward and off the chair.
The user should assist by pushing with their legs to slide back, while carers pull the webbing straps back.
When the person is sitting at the back of the chair, the gold webbing strap should be fastened behind the chair to prevent the chair from sliding forward, If possible, wrap the webbing around the rear legs of the chair before doing up the buckle.
When standing up, release the buckle and hold the webbing loops to control the speed as the person slides forward.
PORTABILITY: Lightweight. Fabric construction enables it be folded or rolled up for ease of transportation and carrying.
AREAS FOR USE: On a bed, wheelchair or chair seat where a user may be inclined to slide forward. Does not build up heat when sat on.
Cleaning Requirements
