Extra product information
The Vigil Aide consists of two components: an alarm unit with a power pack and a vibration detector. The small detector is in a pouch which can be attached to the bed of the person being monitored or attached to the person's belt during the day. It is attached to the bed / person via hook and loop fastening tape (hook and loop tape). There are no wires or long cables.
The sensor unit detects vibrations caused by a seizure and sensitivity can be adjusted. The commencement of a seizure is indicated by an alarm which can be audible, vibration or visual (flashing light).
The alarm unit has a built in time delay which can be adjusted from about 1 - 15 seconds before the alarm is activated (thus vibrations must be maintained, for example, for 4 seconds before the alarm is activated). The alarm is activated by a radio signal. Two ranges are available, 20 - 30 metres and up to 150 metres. The sensor is powered by a 9 volt lithium battery.
