The sensor is connected to the plumbing intake via a soleniod, which allows water to flow when the user waves their hand or elbow past the sensor. The water flow will cease when the user waves their hand or elbow past the sensor again. Alternatively the system can be set to turn off the water flow after 8 seconds.
