General Details
Caution
The protectors are slippery when wet and it is recommended to avoid walking with the protector on the leg.
Extra product information
The protectors are made of non-sterile, latex free, polyethylene and are suitable for either left or right limb use.
They can be submerged and are designed to be disposed but may withstand more than one use.
All models are designed to be one-size-fits-all and can be cut to fit as required.
Each protector pack features two protectors, an instruction sheet for measuring and cutting to size, and a tape measure.
Method of Use
To cut the protectors to size:
1. Using the enclosed paper tape measure, measure the circumference of the arm/leg requiring protection. Ensure the measurement is taken from a point approximately 50 - 60mm beyond the area to be protected.
2. Once the circumference measurement has been determined, identify the appropriate size by referring to the measurement guide enclosed in the pack.
3. Lay one of the protectors on a flat surface. Using scissors, cut the protector to the appropriate size to create an opening for the limb. Note: cut across the longest point between the waves. Do not cut the protector at the straight closed end.
4. Once the protector has been cut to size, roll back the cut end by reaching inside the tube to pull some of the wider fabric through the new opening, sufficiently to slip over the hand or foot.
5. Pull the protector up the limb to cover the cast or dressing until it is fully enclosed. Ensure the cut end forms an even and comfortable seal to prevent moisture from entering the protector.
6. To remove the protector, reverse the above process by easing the open end over the end of the cast or dressing and then, by holding the enclosed end, gently pull it away from the limb.
7. Hang the protector to air dry away from direct sunlight.
8. If undamaged, the protector can be used approximately 3 - 4 times.
