The chair is made from tubular steel and aluminium. It is designed to encourage the user to actively maintain a neutral posture by providing a minimal amount of contact with the body, whilst assisting in specific areas to maintain an ergonomic posture.
Small, height adjustable, ball-shaped "impulse stimulators" are located on the backrest. They are adjustable through 180mm of height adjustment. They are designed to assist with straightening of the trunk and sitting orientation, as they provide pressure to either side of the spine.
Height adjustment is via a gas lift mechanism operated via a black lever located underneath the right side of the seat.
The padded, contoured seat block encourages abduction of the legs. A padded lumbar support pad (also called an iliac crest support) is height adjustable.
The four swivelling castors are 100mm diameter. A long handled, attendant operated brake lever is located at the rear right side of the chair. An optional additional foot operated brake lever is located near the rear right side castor wheel.
An attendant operated, padded push handle is mounted on the back of the chair.
